As change makers for inclusion, diversity, equity, access, and liberation our work it to disrupt patterns of dominance.
To do this, we have to have some general understanding of how concepts of social identity influence systemic privilege; in other words, we have to get real about white privilege.
This Peggy McIntosh article Unpacking the Invisible Knapsack (1988), was an instrumental piece of reading that helped in my early understanding of how systems of privilege operate.
Today, let’s challenge ourselves to read this article and incorporate what resonates into our practice.
