The Daily Praxis: Mind Your Cues
Mind Your Cues (ENGAGEMENT) -
“What you do speaks so loudly, I cannot hear what you say” - Ralph Waldo Emerson
Over 90% of communication is nonverbal - cues we give into both the intent and impact of what we speak.
In Transformative Praxis what we do holds equal importance to what we say. The ways in which we speak with our bodies, even if seemingly small, demonstrates our engagement (or disengagement).
Staying engaged and connected through relationship as a change maker is essential to the work of building our intercultural competence, and returning to that commitment daily through practice.
Today, let’s challenge ourselves to demonstrate openness, non-verbally, and incorporate this into our practice. I’ll be demonstrating my openness by keep my arms uncrossed.
