“Comfort zone” and “curiosity” are recurring themes in Transformative Praxis. Building curiosity (and remaining curious) is an anchoring concept for increasing intercultural competence as change-makers.
A dear mentor and coach shared this tip along my journey and I’m paying it forward. The simple practice of reading something you’re unfamiliar with, and wouldn’t normally read, can help our neuroplasticity - the brain’s ability to form and reorganize synaptic connections.
The better our neuroplasticity, the better our ability to inter-culturally adapt.
Today, let’s challenge ourselves to read something beyond our comfort zone and incorporate this into our practice. I’ll be reading this.
